(2016/09/29)Dresden/Hanover. Preh Car Connect GmbH, a company of the Preh Group, presents the topic vehicle connectivity as the focus theme of its fair presentation at the IAA Commercial Vehicles 2016. In Hall 16 (Booth A40) the Preh Division from Dresden presents a Connec-tivity Box, which is conceived as the basis of vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-X communication. It permits both the data exchange of utility vehicles and cars among each other and the communication of trucks with traffic control systemsspecific traffic junctions. Further product innovations of Preh Car Connect on show in Hanover include a navigation demonstrator which pre-sents Connected Cloud Services, Hybrid Navigation and a 3D map presentation and is based on a series navigation device for the Volkswagen Group.
“That trucks driving behind each other can practicallytogethera train by data networking and then drive autonomously on our motorways is still a matter of the future. But technically we have already created the basis for vehicles to link up and communicate,” says Stefan Gottschlag, Managing Director and CTO of Preh Car Connect GmbH.
At Preh Car Connect – the former TechniSat Automotive – the devel-opment team has worked on preparing the communication between future vehicles. As the key result, Preh presents the “Connectivity Box” which is on show in Hanover and already permits communication vehicle-to-vehicle, vehicle-to-X and vehicle-to-infrastructure today. The product features include a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), LTE and UMTS as well as WLAN 2.4 GHz / 5 GHz / 2.4 GHz MIMO and Bluetooth 4.1 Low Energy. Dynamic adjustment to changing traffic situations, spacing regulations, communication with traffic control systems and traffic lights as well as traffic jam and collision warnings can be implemented reliably in the Connectivity Box.
“In the near future the focus will be on assisted driving and the in-crease of driving safety and comfort in the utility vehicle cockpit”, says Stefan Gottschlag.
